According to the Associated Press (via
The Salt Lake Tribune), Alaska Rep. Charisse Millett (R-Anch.), who co-chairs the state's energy committee, spoke to reporters at an invitational gathering of Western lawmakers in Jackson Hole, Wyo. Millett, like the other assembled Republicans from energy-rich states, believes in opposing the federal plan to institute a cap-and-trade system to curb emissions and spur growth in the renewable energy market. Said Millett, "Green jobs are nice and warm, and they feel good, and we all want clean energy. But the fact of the matter is, we're not going to transition to green overnight. We're not going to be 100 percent renewable in the United States in one year, or five years or 10 years." Read more
