2012: Website urges anti-Palin primary votes -- for Palin

It was only a matter of time, we suppose, until someone seriously floated the idea of negative voting for Sarah Palin. A few recent polls have been indicating that former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is the least likely Republican to win a race in 2012 against President Barack Obama should he decide to run again, and some people are now trying to take advantage of them in hopes of making an Obama victory more possible. Incidentally, their effort perhaps adds credence to Matt Bai's recent thesis that the Republican Party's presidential candidate nomination process, formerly pre-ordained, is now being crowdsourced, and in the widest sense of that term. A website featuring the slogan "Nominate the Unelectable" has sprung up urging non-Republican, anti-Palin voters to vote for Palin as the Republican presidential nominee, whether they live in states with open primaries or not. So far, the site contains a running blog of Palin news and comment, a state-by-state guide on how to cast a primary vote for Palin, a table of poll results, and a FAQ page about the site itself. So, if they're so opposed to Palin, aren't the site's creators worried that their plan will backfire? No. In the FAQ, they point to the recent polls, as well as Sen. Lisa Murkowski's recent write-in defeat of Republican nominee Joe Miller, a Palin-backed candidate, as evidence voters won't elect Palin. Here's the entire mission statement for "Primaries for Palin":
