VIDEO: What's that noise under the Bering Strait?

Alaska Dispatch

It's spring in Arctic Alaska and that means it's time to go after the bowhead whale. Hunters from the North Slope to the Bering Strait are now on the sea ice looking for whales. In Savoonga, villagers had already harpooned four bowheads as of Friday.

Meantime, just outside the village of Wales, one hunter recorded what he thought were bowhead whales as they move through the Bering Strait. But some readers have since told us they think the sounds aren't whales but bearded seals.

In this video shot by Kyle George of Wales, Alaska, and posted on his Facebook page, he captures the underwater sounds, as well as some brief footage of a jellyfish. Any idea what the sounds are?
