AK state business, on Yahoo!
Alaska Dispatch |
Jan 04, 2010
In case you've missed it because the only section of this website you read is "Palin Watch"... Alaska Dispatch has gained access to several emails that were sent by then-Gov. Sarah Palin to various staffers and members of her administration from a Yahoo! account. In part one of a two-part analysis, our own Rena Delbridge focuses on the question of whether or not Palin used personal email accounts to conduct state business. She did. It also appears that she knew private email accounts wouldn't be subject to public records requests. The question now likely to be asked in Juneau is whether or not Alaska laws should be changed to make private emails that discuss state business subject to information requests. Read more of part one (as well as .pdf's of the emails themselves) here. And keep an eye out for part two, set to be released this afternoon (01/04) Alaska time. The folks over at Gawker say they feel vindicated by these newly disclosed emails. That publication caught a bunch of flak for posting some of Palin's personal emails in 2008 and speculating that she must've been flaunting records laws as well. Read what they have to say, here. |
