According to practically the entire Internet, at 12:01 a.m. Thurdsay morning, it became official: Alaskan and NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer has left the Utah Jazz to play for the Chicago Bulls. The deal for the former Juneau prep star is rumored to last 5 years and be worth $80 million. The first report came late Wednesday via ESPN News, but the contract wasn't yet official. Read or watch that story, here. The Salt Lake Tribune isn't exactly being kind to Boozer in the wake of this announcement, but, well, Utah has a hard time liking anyone not named Malone or Stockton, especially if they leave the Jazz to sign with, of all teams, the Bulls. The Chicago Sun-Times thinks the Bulls made a good move and hopes that by signing Boozer, the Bulls will have an easier time attracting -- and paying for -- this year's biggest free agent, LeBron James. |
