The latest from Alaska State Troopers:

On 07/25/2010 at approximately 1940 hours, Jacob L. Redding, age 23, of Anchorage called 911 and reported that he and three other adults, four children and one dog were four wheeling when their swamp buggy ran out of gas and they were lost on the Pinnacle Trail located at mile 99.5 of the Glenn Highway. Helo 1 was launched and sent towards the search area. At 2300 hours, Troopers were able to reach Redding by his cell phone. Redding reported everyone in the party was home safe in Anchorage and gave no reason for failing to notify Troopers they had made it out safely. Investigation is continuing.

Either the group ran into someone who loaned them some gas, or they managed to walk out.

Search and rescue completed. Successfully.
