Flying to the slopes

Apr 02, 2010
I hauled a group of three telemark skiers onto the glacier at 6000 feet today. I scoped a place to land and set up for an approach. As soon as the skis were in the snow and I began reducing throttle I knew I was going to get stuck. My skis were plowing through the snow and even with full throttle I could not keep the Super Cub moving. I crawled out of the drivers seat and sunk right up over my knees. We busted out the snowshoes and skis and packed a small area to help me turn around. I can't even imagine the fun these guys are going to have stomping around up there. They flew up from Utah for this ski trip and they are in the field for four nights.
