Alaska's partnership with pipeline builder TransCanada is on track as planned, with an end goal still in place to have gas flowing by 2018.
At a press conference Tuesday in Anchorage, Revenue Commissioner Pat Galvin also said that a major milestone next year -- an open season -- shouldn't be considered a "litmus test" of the project's commercial viability, and that the state's deal with pipeline builder TransCanada ensures that planning keeps moving forward whether or not gas producers buy in. The state officials held the press conference in conjunction with the release of a progress report requested by the Legislature. |
