Gingrich would consider Palin for major role if elected

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin -- a one-time vice presidential candidate -- seems supportive of GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich, saying on Fox News this week, "If I were a South Carolinian, I would vote for Newt." Gingrich, apparently, is paying back the favor, according to the Huffington Post. In an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer on Wednesday, Gingrich labeled Palin as a person he'd call on for advice, but added that no official step has been taken regarding an administration position. "I would ask her to consider taking a major role in the next administration if I'm president, but nothing has been discussed of any kind," Gingrich said. "And it wouldn’t be appropriate to discuss it at this time." Last month at a town hall event, the former Speaker of the House said Palin could be a contender for the vice-presidential pick in 2012. "She is certainly one of the people you would look at," Gingrich said of Palin during the town hall hosted by Ralph Reed’s Faith and Freedom Coalition. "I am a great admirer of hers and she was a remarkable reform governor of Alaska, she's somebody who I think brings a great deal to the possibility of helping in government and that would be one of the possibilities."

"She was a remarkable reform governor of Alaska?" What do you suppose he was reading, or smoking, to come to that conclusion? If he does have a post, perhaps it's the Ambassador to the country of Africa.

Gov. Sarah Palin is the nation's leading authority & foremost expert on the safe, efficient, financially feasible extraction, transportation, & distribution of fossil fuel resources. She would be perfect for Secretary of Energy with plenipotentiary powers.

Perfect for energy issues...that's why the legislature had that "no more Sarah Palin[s]" bill years back.

Dear God- the pandering these politicians do to try to win. I seem to recall Newt having some bad things to say about Sarah in the past. Of course- Palin didn't say she was ENDORSING Newt- she only said she would vote for him if she was voting in South Carolina to "keep things going for awhile". That is not an endorsement- that is simply her wanting to keep the mix going for a while. If it is pretty much settled that Romney is the nominee, it makes it harder for someone else and I think she wants either herself or someone else to jump in at a later date- after some of these primaries, debates and caucuses are done so there is less time to stick a foot in it. I am waiting to see, but I don't think we have heard the last of her in this presidential election.

The two make a perfect couple, don't they? They both have had extramarital affairs, poor family values despite what they actually say, will say or do anything for a vote or money, both have been found guilty of ethics violations, and neither one is a good parent. The irony is that Sarah's endorsement is also Newt's kiss of death.

Other than rumor, do you have any solid information that she's had an "extramarital affair?" She has a lot of problems, but I'm not sure that she's messed around since she's been married. However, I wouldn't bet a buck that she hasn't.

Well, given the latest allegations concerning 'the Newtron Bomb', it brings a whole new meaning to the term, "major role...".

Lord help us. Fortunately, the endorsement is a kiss of death for this campaign.

True sign of desperation! For such a self proclaimed smart man, the history professor seems to forget recent history! It was just 3 years ago in a desperate act John McCain selected an unvetted little know gov from Alaska named Sarah Palin. How did that work out for him? There is no way that Sarah Palin would even consider being on a Gingrich ticket although I do find it interesting that she would back a man of low moral character her being such a good christian social conservative woman and all!

McCain only had one less wife and adulterous affair than Gingrich.

He has demonstrated poor judgement in his personal life for so long, I couldn't bear to think of supporting him. This confirms my opinion!

Secretary Palin: 2013-2015 "...remarkable reform governor-" stop there, you made me cringe. It's a good thing that Gingrich is unlikely to be the nominee. He would flush the country down the toilet with her at his side.

I don't think he'd need that much help. |
