GOP loses to Tea Party

According to a new poll conducted by Rasmussen Reports, more respondents said that they would vote for a congressional candidate from a hypothetical Tea Party than they would for a Republican candidate. After telling those polled to assume that the Tea Party had organized itself into a political party and had put up a candidate for Congress in their district's next election against the two major parties, the poll found that 36 percent of respondents would vote for the Democrat, 23 percent would vote for the Tea Party candidate, 22 percent would be undecided, and 18 percent would vote for the Republican. Overall, the telephone poll of 1,000 likely voters has a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points with a 95 percent level of confidence. Read a whole lot more here. |
