'Hi ho, Twitter! Awaay!'

No doubt by now all you Palin addicts will have heard that the former governor has announced on Facebook that she's returning to making more frequent micro-blog posts on Twitter. Presumably, this is the result of needing convenience while she's on the road for her book tour. After all, she can't be expected to post fully-footnoted Facebook policy statements from her mobile device, can she? Anyway, of all the reports we have read so far about her return to tweeting, an entry on the Los Angeles Times books blog, "Jacket Copy," caught our attention. It gives a run-down of the Twitter story, gives the numbers of how many people "follow" her tweets, and then says how many Twitter feeds her page follows: None. Read more here. Alaska Dispatch thinks that social networking is only legitimate if there's a network, not a bunch of consumers plugged into a top-down central node. |
