How Sarah might win in 2012

The Washington Post's Matthew Dowd writes in his column this week that former Gov. Palin, while not likely to win, at least "has a shot" at the White House if she chooses to run in 2012. Dowd provides poll numbers that suggest he's not as far out in the night as many people, whether they're conservative or liberal, might think. After he establishes that a Palin run for president wouldn't be totally ludicrous, he gives a list of things Palin can start doing now to boost her chances. One of them is to appear on Charlie Rose's show. Read more here. Fair warning, though; during the course of Dowd's column, it's easy to lose sight of how contradictory and softened his primary thesis is: "Yet while the conventional wisdom has it that Palin is too badly damaged to make a serious run in 2012 -- and I agree that her success is not probable -- it is definitely a possibility that Palin could be elected president of the United States." |
