According to KYUK-Radio (Bethel, via APRN), an Alaska State Trooper and two Village Public Safety Officers have been transferred to serve the coastal Yukon Delta village of Nunam Iqua after the village's health center shut down when its staff resigned over personal safety concerns. The officers are on temporary duty assignment there, which may only last two weeks. Arrests are being made while two health aides from the village of Chevak fill in, but the long-term picture of law enforcement and health care in the village remains murky.
