Man arrested for terroristic threatening at 36 Crazyfists concert

Alaska Dispatch

So you think your weekend was thrilling? Some concertgoers in Girdwood last weekend may disagree no matter how good the fishing was.

According to the Alaska State Troopers dispatch: Man goes to concert; man becomes hostile; man threatens crowd, security guards and others concert goers; troopers are called to apprehend man; man goes to jail.

That's pretty much what happened Saturday night at a 36 Crazyfists military benefit concert in Girdwood. But, in the above scenario, "the man" is replaced by 26-year-old Ryan Suchan of Anchorage.

Troopers allege Suchan was "threatening to shoot people" -- well, it started out as a threat to one "unknown individual" in particular and then spread to everyone else in the vicinity, including the four security guards attempting to escort Suchan from the show.

Once removed from the concert, Suchan was taken to the Alyeska Day Lodge to await the arrival of law enforcement. He was detained and sent back to Anchorage for some quality jail time. Meanwhile, troopers "recovered a handgun during the investigation."

Suchan is accused of "terroristic threatening" and 4th degree assault on four persons. He's being held in Anchorage on bail.
