Mead Treadwell, the chair of the U.S. Arctic Research Commission, announced Friday morning that he will run for lieutenant governor.
"The fact is I've been working on Alaska issues for over 35 years, and I might have run much earlier except I had three kids to raise," Treadwell said. Treadwell is also the chief executive of Venture Ad Astra and the managing director of the Institute for the North, and was a former deputy commissioner of the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation in the Hickel administration. "We've got to help whoever's governor get a gas line going, and to diversify the economy," Treadwell said. |
