According to a press release from Fairbanks attorney Joe Miller's U.S. Senate campaign, Senator Jim DeMint of South Carolina has declared his support for Miller's candidacy. "I want to congratulate Joe Miller...and offer him my full support," said Sen. DeMint.

The political action committee DeMint chairs, the Senate Conservatives Fund, has placed Miller on its list of endorsed candidates and will immediately begin rasing money for his campaign.

According to the release, Miller responded, "I'm deeply appreciative of Senator DeMint's and the SCF's endorsement of our campaign. Senator DeMint has been doing yoeman's [sic] work to bring this nation back to its Founding principle of limited government and personal freedom. With the support of the Alaskan people, I want to join him in that fight in the halls of Congress."
