No jury duty Friday for Palin

The first day of the Sarah Palin jury watch passed with this simple recorded message to those called for jury duty: "Your services will not be needed on Friday, June 24.'' Those in the Palmer jury pool, which Palin has indicated include her, are to call back Friday night to find out about "possible service on Monday, June 27. The former governor lives just up the road from Palmer in the small town of Wasilla, where she was once mayor. Local legal cases, however, are tried at the courthouse in Palmer. The jury procedure in Alaska is to send jury duty notices to a small army of people. They are given a pool number. If their pool number is called, they are to report to the court house to await possible selection to a jury. It is rare to get picked, and a half-dozen attorneys queried by Alaska Dispatch said that they would immediately move to waive Palin if she was actually called to sit on a jury. As one of them put it, no one would want to bring to the courtroom the circus that seems to follow in the wake of the former Alaska governor these days. Palin, however, has said she's putting all her plans on hold for the moment awaiting the jury call. On Facebook -- her favorite means of communication -- she posted that "the coming weeks are tight because civic duty calls (like most everyone else, even former governors get called up for jury duty) and I look forward to doing my part just like every other Alaskan." Jury duty? Yeah right. Last I checked, you could not quit halfway through to go to a premiere of a movie about yourself ALL THE WAY IN IOWA DURING JURY DUTY.

Palin is going to Iowa for the opening the the Goebbels-like movie about her, which has been named "The Refudiated." She also said she interrupted her PAC-paid family vacation for jury duty here. Jury duty in Alaska is for 30 days. So either Palin started her jury duty before Memorial Day- which is impossible because she was already on her bus tour- or either: 1. she is lying about suspending her bus tour because of jury duty. Can the Dispatch find out if she really was summoned for jury duty, and if so, when? And, if so, did she get an extension so she could go out of state, or did she get "celebrity treatment?"

What a SURPRISE! Not... $palin is good at only two things - quitting and lying.

Ha Ha..... what a useless piece of cow poop this Craig guy is. Does he also do a Palin sewage watch? hang out in the sewage discharge pipe near their house to see how much crap comes out? Then he compares it to his and determines if it is more or less than his. Very important, isn't it?

Phil, you have a potty pen. You aren't doing your idol any favors, in fact - quite the opposite. The more you talk, the more damage you do. Icky poo. Ewwwwwww...

Then there's those pesky judges who won't let you Twitter and FB in court, and that really hard part about having to pay attention when you're really worried about your makeup and clothes, and then OMG you have to *decide* stuff and oh boy, it's just SO HARD... like being governor, only w/o per diem and lobbyists. But jury duty *is* a good excuse to not go back on your Bus Trip to Nowhere. |
