As if American media outlets don't have enough of a credibility problem these days, according to The New York Times media blog, "Media Decoder," ex-Gov. Sarah Palin will be appearing regularly as a contributor to the Fox News Channel. The financial terms of Palin's deal with Fox weren't disclosed, but the network confirmed that Palin will appear regularly as part of a multi-year deal. The report says she won't have her own show, but she will be hosting a series that will run "from time to time," perhaps in the same way Oliver North hosts an occasional documentary series about the military. Read more here. On a side note, it's interesting to us that the Times notes that Palin's attorney, "Robert Barnett," was not available for comment. What happened to Thomas Van Flein? Also, The Washington Post's blog, "44," reports that Palin's occasional series "will examine inspirational tales involving ordinary Americans." Hilariously enough, the Post notes that Fox hiring Palin "could further boost the popularity of Rupert Murdoch's network among conservative viewers." Read more here. Unfortunately, so far, we haven't found a report on whether or not the scattered ashes of Edward R. Murrow are rotating rapidly. [Update (01/11, 11:00 am AKDT): MediaBistro's "TVNewser" reportedly has posted the official press release, here. It seems on the up-and-up, but we can't verify its veracity.] |
