Palin lands a speaking gig in Asia

According to the Associated Press (via The New York Times), Sarah Palin has landed her first paid speaking engagement. She'll speak in Hong Kong in Sept. at a well-known Asian investors' conference. The fee hasn't been disclosed, nor has the speech's topic. The AP report also notes that the speech will be closed to media. According to a piece in the Asia Sentinel, one Hong Kong business leader wondered if the announcement was a hoax. That leader wasn't given real attribution, and the piece has other red flags counting against it, so we're doubtful, but still, it has entertainment value. We just hope Palin's speech whips up some furious support in Asian markets for Alaska's oil and gas. Read the totally legitimate AP report here. Read the dubious but funny Asia Sentinal report here.
