Palin reengages in Iowa ... 2012?

The New York Times is reporting that Sarah Palin has accepted an invitation to speak at the Republican Party's annual Ronald Reagan dinner in Des Moines on Sept. 17. That's important, the Times notes, because of the state's key role in the presidential nominating season and because the last time Palin was planning on heading to the Hawkeye State she angered Republicans by trying to give a paid speech. (Jeff Zeleny of the Times writes that "A conservative group declined to pay her, under the thinking that Republicans come to Iowa to advance their political ambitions and increase their visibility, not to make a profit.") The Washington Post and Politico also wrote this up. |
