Palin to Teapartiers: You have no choice

According to CBS News (via Anchorage's KTVA-TV), during a recent appearance in front of Republican Party activists in Arkansas, Sarah Palin seemed to temper rumors that she's planning a run for the White House. She also implied she doubts the prospects of Tea Party candidates in national elections. She told the audience, "Now the smart thing will be for independents who are such a part of this Tea Party movement to, I guess, kind of start picking a party (...) And then because the Tea Party movement is not a party, and we have a two-party system, they're going to have to pick a party and run one or the other: ‘R' or ‘D'." Read much, much more here, including signs that audience turnout was lower than expected. We're not certain, but isn't breaking the effective stranglehold the Republican and Democratic parties have on national elections one of the few things Tea Partiers agree on? |
