Palin vs. The AP

According to National Public Radio's news blog, "Two Way," former Gov. Sarah Palin recently posted a Facebook note slamming the Associated Press for incorrectly reporting a detail from her upcoming book. After allegedly obtaining an advance copy of "Going Rogue," the AP reported that Palin wrote that the McCain campaign billed her $500,000 for "vetting" prior to her selection as VP candidate, which was incorrect. Later the AP changed that to say that the fee for the vetting process represented about one-tenth of the infamous $500,000 total cost of "frivolous ethics complaints" against Palin. A former lawyer for the McCain campaign told NPR that as far as he knows, the campaign never received a bill from Palin for legal costs incurred during her vetting, nor did the campaign ever send a bill to Palin for any vetting-related expenses.
