About two hours ago, a new tweet appeared on former Gov. Sarah Palin's Twitter page, congratulating the state of Alabama and one of its Congressmen, Rep. Parker Griffith. Griffith officially switched from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party this morning. Palin's Twitter post, exactly as it appeared: "Congratulations Alabama! And all Americans concerned about Capitol Hill's current agenda;Rep Parker Griffith just did the right thing.Welcome". Read more of her Twitter feed here. Read Bloomberg's article on the switcheroo here. This congratulation message from Palin came as some surprise to us because just prior to reading it, we read Talking Points Memo's "Flashback" about attack ads that the GOP ran against a then-Democratic Griffith in 2008, one alleging that as a doctor he deliberately gave poor care to cancer patients, and another that featured audio of him saying in a speech, "America's greatest enemy is America, and its materialism... We have nothing to fear from radical Islam." Read more, here, and see the video ads, which according to Talking Points Memo, have been removed from the National Republican Congressional Committee's YouTube account. |
