Palin would call Dutch and Norwegians to fix Gulf blowout
Alaska Dispatch |
Jun 16, 2010
Here's a video from a recent Sarah Palin appearance on Bill O'Reilly's Fox News show. At the beginning of the clip, we almost thought she was going to mention Alaska's increasingly dire oil predicament, but then she started talking about "bowing down to the Saudis and Venezuela" and we sort of got confused. Many Alaskans may notice that Palin re-tasks the familiar "three-legged stool" analogy for a national audience before she continues her criticism of the response to the Gulf of Mexico oil disaster and chastises President Obama for not taking other countries up on their offers to help. In particular, she says he should have let "the Dutch and the Norwegians" help because "They're known for being good with dikes and for cleaning water and for dealing with spills." Palin also says such countries "can't get a phone call back," but the Obama Administration did indeed respond, to the Dutch offer at least. Watch the former governor's remarks below. |
