Photographers capture northern lights
Jill Burke |
Aug 05, 2010
Some great pictures have come in of this week's display of northern lights. The active aurora borealis was prompted by a geomagnetic storm. The website Spaceweather.com has a nice collection of pictures from sky watchers in Canada, Wisconsin, Iowa and even Antarctica. We do wonder, however, whether any Alaskans caught a glimpse of the show. If you did, let us know. And better yet, if you took a photograph -- send it our way. If you missed the light display you'll likely get a second chance. According to Spaceweather.com, another sun storm could erupt this week, triggering another show.
