Pilot Bread Connection at UAA
|
Sep 08, 2009
Cosponsored by a who's who of campus organizations and departments, Pilot Bread Connection will "bring Alaska Native, Native American, and Indigenous students together to build friendships, learn about our cultures and have fun," according to UAA's Green and Gold Daily. "There will be large group activities as well as presentations and discussions about Alaska Native dancing, Alaska Native games, subsistence in Anchorage, defining the Alaska Federation of Natives and First Alaskans Institute, decolonization, urban basketball and more."
UAA is encouraging pre-registration for the event (although the university promises no one will be turned away at the door). As an added incentive, participants who register by 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11 will be entered to win a Laura Wright parky. To register or for more information, call Karla Booth at (907) 751-7452 or e-mail ankhb@uaa.alaska.edu. |
