Priest abuse case dismissed

According to the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, the plaintiff known as Jane Doe has voluntarily agreed to dismiss a civil suit based on alleged sexual assault she filed against Rev. Gerald Ornowski and his religious order, the Congregation of Marians of the Immaculate Conception in Stockbridge, Mass. Doe's lawyer said that the pressure of litigation got to his client. The Diocesan Chancellor said this is the first instance of a sexual abuse case in Fairbanks being voluntarily abandoned by its plaintiff, and it was the only such case filed against Rev. Ornowski.
