According to Fox News, Army posts in the Lower 48 will handle being stops on former Gov. Palin's book tour in vastly different ways. Fort Bragg laid down a "strict set of do's and don'ts" for Palin's visit, expecting that crowds may turn into a political demonstration against the commander in chief. The law prohibits political candidates from using military bases as platforms and soldiers as photo props, and public criticism of a sitting president has long been frowned on in the military. Officials at Fort Hood, however, are treating the former governor just like any other celebrity coming for a book tour, and have much more relaxed rules for troops' conduct during her visit. The Attribution got fouled up in the latter third of the article, but an Army spokesman said that she's not a candidate, so there's no need for such strict measures at Fort Hood.
