Well, former Gov. Palin's political action committee has filed its first quarter 2010 financial disclosure with the Federal Election Commission. According to the documents, SarahPAC took in $400,000 and paid out $409,000 during the first quarter, the bulk going to operating and travel costs, consulting fees and staff salaries. Palin's PAC only gave $9,500 to candidates, but spent $14,000 on de-icing private jets and more than $16,000 on hotels. Read a short, linky tidbit from The Washington Post, and if you're interested in maximum detail, be sure to follow the Post's link to the National Journal article on the matter. Also, the blog Palingates posted a detailed analysis of SarahPAC's first-year financial health earlier this week. It's worth a read for context, and it does help explain why SarahPAC has announced an "aggressive" new push for raising funds. Read more about that effort from CNN. |
