Todd Palin to appear for Murkowski challenger

A press release today from the campaign of Joe Miller, who is challenging Sen. Lisa Murkowski in the Republican primary, touts an appearance by former "first dude" Todd Palin at an event in Wasilla this week. "The Committee to Elect Joe Miller to United States Senate will be holding its first fundraiser on Friday, May 7, 2010 at the Regan Building in Wasilla, Alaska," the release stated. "Todd Palin will be attending the event organized on Joe Miller's behalf." The release didn't specify whether Palin or his wife, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, would endorse Miller. Sarah Palin said last year that she would raise money for Murkowski's re-election bid; she made the statement to quell rumors that she herself would challenge Murkowski. "(Palin) thinks the senator is doing a great job and that's why she's looking forward to hosting a fundraiser for her," then-Palin spokeswoman Meg Stapleton told the Anchorage Daily News last April. Neither the Miller nor Murkowski campaigns could be reached for comment Monday morning. |
