KTVA-TV has posted an exclusive interview with Congressman Don Young, his first since news broke that the FBI has called off its corruption investigation of him. He said when a member of his staff showed him the good news on a Blackberry, the news didn't register at first. "It didn't dawn on me what it really said." Now that the investigation is over, Congressman Young said he's feeling its absence, sort of like a tortured prisoner who's happy to have been taken off the rack but who strangely misses it. In response to his opponents who say the FBI's decision doesn't constitute his innocence, he said, "I'm a little disappointed that they would sort of mudrake things. They should congratulate me, very frankly." The interview also features what seems to be an early declaration that he's ready to run for Congress again in 2012. |
