This is what landing on a highway looks like

Here are the Anchorage Police Department photos of the plane that pilot Bill Toney skillfully landed on the Glenn Highway after his engine blew apart. Bush Pilot had the exclusive interview with Toney the night of the landing. Below is the APD press release on the whole incident.

A Cessna 180 piloted by the sole occupant, Bill Toney was forced to land on the Glenn Highway in the inbound lanes on 6-4-10 at 1532 hours. No one was injured and Toney was able to land safely between southbound vehicles. He told police that he had experienced an engine failure after something blew a hole in his crankcase housing from the inside. In order to clear the highway, officers allowed Toney to attach the Cessna's tail wheel to the bed of a pickup truck and tow it the 3 miles to the Birchwood Airport with a police escort.
