'Going Rouge,' two spoofs

| Oct 21, 2009
A couple of parodies are set to coincide with Palin memoir's release, and one's a coloring book.

According to the Guardian (U.K.), small book publishers are looking to capitalize on the pre-release success of Sarah Palin's memoir and are timing their release dates for maximum impact. First up, a spoof titled Going Rouge, subtitled "an american nightmare." The parody will feature essays from various contributors to present an alternative view of Palin's meteoric rise to political stardom, as well as address "the nightmarish prospect of her continuing to dominate the nation's political scene." Going Rouge is set to release on the same day that the authentic Palin tome will. There's also a coloring book by a similar title (Going Rouge, The Sarah Palin Rogue Coloring and Activity Book) scheduled to release the same day as Palin's book. The coloring book, written by two cartoonists, will feature mazes (like "Help Sarah find her way to the White House" and "Where in the world does domestic Alaskan oil go?"), word games and puzzles, in addition to the obvious coloring pages.
