According to the Anchorage Daily News, former Gov. Sarah Palin's book tour will end at Elmendorf and Eielson Air Force Bases, and it looks like both events will be closed to the general public. People with access to Elmendorf can attend the Anchorage event, but reportedly, a military ID will be required for the Eielson event. These final stops on her tour were last-minute bookings, and according to an Air Force public affairs spokesman, the bases won't have enough lead-time to make necessary preparations for the general public to attend. Prior to this announcement, no book-signings were scheduled in Alaska. When asked why there have been no plans for a public event in Alaska, a HarperCollins publicist told to the ADN, "The Governor is humbled by this opportunity to honor the nation's military stationed in AK, especially during the Holidays." Palin's Facebook announcement of the Alaska book-signings reportedly ends, "Hope to see you there!" Read more here.
