What stories mattered most in Alaska this week?

A tariff fight over how much companies can pay to transport oil down the trans-Alaska pipeline has called into question Gov. Sean Parnell's publicly-stated reasons for restructuring Alaska's oil tax regime. Is the pipeline in danger of running dry in eight years, as Parnell has warned, or will it be around another 50, 60, 70 years, as his attorney general has claimed in court? Matanuska Maid, Alaska's only big dairy, suffered what could be a mortal blow this week when its Mat-Su buildings burned down. The dairy has been a controversial subject for many Alaska newswatchers since the days of the Sarah Palin administration.
