I've been hearing great things about the Alaska Local Food Film Festival going on until Oct. 8 at the Bear Tooth. Great movies. Great local food.

The perfect panacea for that taste of rendered fat that's been in my mouth since reading that NYT's piece on E. Coli and ground beef, where the only good guy in the slaughterhouses of villains is Costco, peace be upon it.

Speaking of good guys, Valley farmer Alex Davis is still selling his A.D. Farm certified organic produce this and probably next week on Wednesdays between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at parking lot of the Northway Mall.  Saturdays he'll be at the parking lot at the University Center Mall between 10 am to 4 pm.  When the weather gets too cold, he'll be inside the Northway Mall on Wednesdays between 11 am and 6 pm.

I can vouch for his seriously fresh and good for you and so yummy cabbage, carrots, beets, potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and kohlrabi, and fresh eggs.
