By the beginning of August the farms of the Matanuska Valley are in full production, and on August 4 the Mat-Su chapter of the Alaska Farm Bureau hosted their annual farm tour to showcase some of the area's diverse agricultural operations. Stops this year included AD Farm and Little Pitchfork Ranch on Lazy Mountain, Country Garden Farms in Palmer and Pyrah's Pioneer Peak Farm in the Butte.
